Meet Jacqueline

Jacqueline Williams is our Adventure for the City Site Coordinator for Glorieta Camps.

Your Name: Jacqueline Williams

Age: 26

College/University: Louisiana State University

Degree: Religious Studies

Favorite Verse, Why?: Joshua 1: 9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” I love this verse because it’s such a great reminder that God is always there. No matter what we’re dealing with or going through the Lord promises to always be there. He’s not a God who just shows up when He wants to, but He walks through life with us. He shows even in the Old Testament how much He wants a relationship with us, and we don’t have to be afraid because the Creator of the universe is on our side. How cool is that?

What are some of your interests, hobbies, passions?: There are so many things that I love to do. I love to travel and see different parts of the world. I love all the different cultures and seeing all of God’s creation. I also love country western dancing. I’m not that great at it, but I love learning and getting better. I love going to sporting events like NHL games (Go Preds), MLB (Go Braves), and college football (Geaux Tigers). I also love playing sports. However, I’m always up for an adventure!

Why did you choose Glorieta Camps?: I’ve always heard of Glorieta Camps growing up. My aunt and uncle started a church about 15 minutes away in Eldorado, and they asked me to come out to be their children’s intern. It sounded like an amazing opportunity, and I lived on Glorieta’s campus. A job opened up at Glorieta, and I jumped at the opportunity. I love the camping ministry. I think it allows us to experience Christ in a complete different way than church. I love what Glorieta stands for inspiring Christlike change in outdoor adventure, authentic relationships, and Biblical Truth to change the world. We pray that Christ will use us to make a difference in our community and surrounding areas.

Why do you work with Day Camps?: There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing a child starting to understand what it means to have a relationship with Christ. Their faith is so pure and authentic. Working with Day Camp is the greatest jobs because we literally get to tell kids about Jesus. Kids are often a second thought in the world, but it is so important to invest in them now so they have a solid foundation of Christ. They are the next generation, and my hope is that their generation takes a better stand for Christ than my generation. They are the future, but more importantly they matter to Christ now. It blows my mind that God would trust me with an important task as to tell kids of His love.

If you had one super power, what would it be and why?: If I had a superpower it would definitely be flying. I love traveling so much! I could save a ton of money if I could simply fly myself there.
